In short, you don&#8217;t wait for the paint to dry between coats. In fact, you need to master color mixing and work with subtlety, anticipating as much as possible.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For example, if you overdo the knife strokes, the shades will blend together too much, and the result can be catastrophic and the complete opposite of what was intended.<\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"848\" height=\"602\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cours-de-peinture.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/peinture-au-couteau-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7207\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.cours-de-peinture.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/peinture-au-couteau-2.jpg 848w, https:\/\/www.cours-de-peinture.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/peinture-au-couteau-2-479x340.jpg 479w, https:\/\/www.cours-de-peinture.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/peinture-au-couteau-2-768x545.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.cours-de-peinture.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/peinture-au-couteau-2-344x244.jpg 344w, https:\/\/www.cours-de-peinture.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/peinture-au-couteau-2-85x60.jpg 85w, https:\/\/www.cours-de-peinture.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/peinture-au-couteau-2-150x106.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 848px) 100vw, 848px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Advantages of the Impasto technique<\/h3>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>It&#8217;s a lot of fun<\/li><li>You can start simply<\/li><li>This technique is very compatible with acrylic paint.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Disadvantages of the Impasto technique<\/h3>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Longer drying time due to high media (paint) usage<\/li><li>You&#8217;ll need to use a lot more media (large quantities of paint).<\/li><\/ul>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">My tips for practicing Impasto<\/h3>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Start simply, with classic thin acrylic paint and no auxiliaries<\/li><li>Prefer an application starting with your lightest shade and ending with your darkest.<\/li><li>Use few stabs, go sparingly<\/li><li>Wipe your knife clean when changing color\/shade<\/li><li>EXPERIENCE IT!
