It&#8217;s a great opportunity, but there are a few constraints, such as shipping the paintings.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ll show you how to make a <strong>sturdy package<\/strong> that&#8217;s perfect for <strong>shipping your paintings<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>How to pack a painting, mistakes not to be made<\/h2>\n<p>Over the last few years, I&#8217;ve shipped several hundred paintings and made a lot of mistakes, especially when I was starting out.<\/p>\n<p>Here are the mistakes you shouldn&#8217;t make when shipping your paintings:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>I was using cardboard boxes of the wrong size<\/li>\n<li>I was using cardboard that was much too thin<\/li>\n<li>I was doing my parcels wrong<\/li>\n<li>I didn&#8217;t protect my paintings very well<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>As a result,<\/strong> my first parcels arrived in poor condition. It could happen that my paintings arrived with holes in them&#8230;<\/p>\n<h2>What you need to pack a painting<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-6960\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cours-de-peinture.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/01.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"594\" height=\"353\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.cours-de-peinture.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/01.jpg 594w, https:\/\/www.cours-de-peinture.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/01-300x178.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.cours-de-peinture.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/01-150x89.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 594px) 100vw, 594px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m going to share with you my method for packing my paintings.<\/p>\n<p>To do this, I use the following equipment:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bubble wrap<\/li>\n<li>Cardboard sheets<\/li>\n<li>A cutter<\/li>\n<li>Scissors<\/li>\n<li>My communication materials<\/li>\n<li>The painting and its certificate of authenticity<\/li>\n<li>A ruler and writing utensils<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Step 1: Check that your painting is ready to be packed<\/h2>\n<p>In my case, I make sure that my painting is completely ready for shipment, the painting must be :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Signed and countersigned<\/li>\n<li>There must be no paint defects on either the canvas or the edges.<\/li>\n<li>The finish must be perfect and the painting must have several coats of varnish.<\/li>\n<li>Keys must be in place on the chassis<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Here are a few articles that may be of interest to you:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cours-de-peinture.net\/comment-peindre-facilement-et-efficacement-les-bords-de-votre-tableau\/\">How to paint the edges of a picture<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cours-de-peinture.net\/comment-pourquoi-et-avec-quoi-signer-une-peinture-acrylique\/\">How to sign a painting<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cours-de-peinture.net\/ces-bouts-de-bois-derriere-un-tableau\/\">How to use chassis keys<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Step 2: Wrapping and protecting the painting<\/h2>\n<p>Your parcel will be traveling, perhaps several hundred or even thousands of kilometers.<\/p>\n<p>And it has to be said, delivery drivers aren&#8217;t always very careful&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>A painting is fragile: so you need to make sure your parcel is sturdy and your painting well protected.<\/p>\n<p>To do this:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Wrap your painting in one or more layers of bubble wrap<\/li>\n<li>Use an adhesive strip that&#8217;s not too sticky to hold the bubble wrap in place. This will make it easier for your buyer to open the package.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-6958\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cours-de-peinture.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/02.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"592\" height=\"305\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.cours-de-peinture.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/02.jpg 592w, https:\/\/www.cours-de-peinture.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/02-300x155.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.cours-de-peinture.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/02-150x77.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 592px) 100vw, 592px\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>Step 3: Accompany your painting with a few communication tools<\/h2>\n<p>It&#8217;s important to show the buyer that you are a professional painter and that you take your work very seriously.<\/p>\n<p>For this, I always put the following documents with the table:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A certificate of authenticity, attesting that I am the author of the work.<\/li>\n<li>A business card<\/li>\n<li>A small brochure<\/li>\n<li>And possibly a word of thanks<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Step 4: Create a custom package for your painting<\/h2>\n<p>At the outset, it always seems complicated to pack a painting, since there are so many different formats, and it&#8217;s rarely possible to find a ready-to-use cardboard box that will fit all painting formats.<\/p>\n<h3>The cardboard I use to pack my paintings<\/h3>\n<p>In order to be able to make parcels for any size of painting, and to have a custom-made parcel so that the painting doesn&#8217;t wander around inside.
