All you need to know is <strong>which medium is best suited to your needs and budget<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m often asked <strong>which medium I use the most<\/strong>, which is the most suitable and offers the best value for money for beginners.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ll try to answer these questions as precisely as possible!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>I&#8217;m a beginner and I don&#8217;t know what to paint!<\/h2>\n<p>Don&#8217;t worry, it&#8217;s perfectly normal. I asked myself a lot of questions when I started acrylic painting.<\/p>\n<p>I wanted to learn, to be able to try out as many things and techniques as possible on a very small budget and with little storage capacity.<\/p>\n<p>It was therefore obvious that the use of canvas frames would have been totally premature in my case.<\/p>\n<p>So I explored different avenues and tried out different materials: paper, cardboard, cardboard, PVC&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-4220\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cours-de-peinture.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/peinture-acrylique-supports.jpg\" alt=\"acrylic paint supports\" width=\"833\" height=\"469\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.cours-de-peinture.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/peinture-acrylique-supports.jpg 833w, https:\/\/www.cours-de-peinture.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/peinture-acrylique-supports-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.cours-de-peinture.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/peinture-acrylique-supports-768x432.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.cours-de-peinture.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/peinture-acrylique-supports-150x84.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 833px) 100vw, 833px\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>Substrates suitable for acrylic paint<\/h2>\n<h3>Acrylic paint on paper<\/h3>\n<p>Basically, paper isn&#8217;t suitable for acrylic paint, as it&#8217;s usually too thin, absorbing water and causing the paper to curl.<\/p>\n<p>However, heavier-weight papers are also available. It can be considered a standard.<\/p>\n<p>The principle is simple: a canvas is stretched over a wooden frame. Frame keys can be used to stretch the canvas to suit your needs.<\/p>\n<p>Canvas supports age well over time and provide a quality base for your paintwork. (Please note: this is subject to the purchase of good quality canvas frames).<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>In my case: The canvas frame is the medium I use most. I use it either on its own, or in several copies as part of polyptych creations. You can use different types of wooden supports.<\/p>\n<h4>Wooden plates<\/h4>\n<p>It&#8217;s perfectly possible to use a classic wooden plate for your painting practice.<\/p>\n<p>However, you need to make sure that the wood you use is thick enough and that it will age well over time and not warp with temperature changes.<\/p>\n<p>To prepare your wood panel, you&#8217;ll need to apply a few coats of primer, such as Gesso.<\/p>\n<h4>Wooden panels<\/h4>\n<p>Wooden panels are supports made exclusively for the practice of fine art.<\/p>\n<p>The wooden stand consists of a wooden plate and 4 other pieces to form a sort of frame for a sturdy stand.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/action.metaffiliation.com\/trk.php?mclic=P422AB56B253131&amp;redir=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.geant-beaux-arts.fr%2Fsupport-en-bois-tintoretto-gerstaecker.html\">View \/ Buy a wooden panel to paint<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Other original media<\/h3>\n<p>In fact, many modern painters love to use anything they can get their hands on as a canvas.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s a list of the supports I&#8217;ve had the pleasure of seeing:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Glass painting (on bottles, for example)<\/li>\n<li>Painting on a guitar<\/li>\n<li>Painting on faience<\/li>\n<li>Painting on rubber<\/li>\n<li>Painting on plastic<\/li>\n<li>Painting on PVC or other rigid substrates<\/li>\n<li>Clock painting<\/li>\n<li>Book painting<\/li>\n<li>etc!
