The problem was that I wasn&#8217;t really comfortable with fine brushes and was simply afraid of messing up my signatures.<\/p>\n<p>I quickly turned to other solutions such as Posca. It&#8217;s simply my favorite solution for signing all my paintings, but I&#8217;ll come back to that later.<\/p>\n<h2>Why should you sign your painting&nbsp;?<\/h2>\n<p>I think it&#8217;s important to sign your painting. I know it&#8217;s a bit daunting at first, but I urge you to do it&nbsp;!<\/p>\n<p>Here are the different reasons why I think it&#8217;s important to sign all your works&nbsp;:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>It&#8217;s a way of taking responsibility for your work<\/li>\n<li>It&#8217;s proof of the authenticity of your work.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>If you&#8217;re afraid of signing your paintings, I highly recommend you take a look at my article on &#8221;&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cours-de-peinture.net\/comment-avoir-confiance-en-soi-quand-on-est-artiste-peintre\/\">How to be confident when you&#8217;re a painter<\/a>&nbsp;&#8220;.<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Some are afraid to sign<\/li>\n<li>Style, don&#8217;t necessarily sign<\/li>\n<li>It&#8217;s a way of making sure you&#8217;ve got your act together.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>What to sign a painting with&nbsp;?<\/h2>\n<h3>Brush<\/h3>\n<p>Prefer fine brushes to obtain a fine signature and gain in precision.<\/p>\n<h3>Posca<\/h3>\n<p>Posca is a kind of pen, but it&#8217;s made of acrylic paint. In my opinion, this is the easiest way to sign your paintings. In fact, you benefit from the hold of a classic pen while applying acrylic paint.<\/p>\n<p>There are different sizes available, but I usually use the thinnest Posca, i.e. 0.7 mm.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/action.metaffiliation.com\/trk.php?mclic=P422AB56B253131&amp;redir=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.geant-beaux-arts.fr%2Fmarqueur-posca-pointe-extra-fine-0-7mm.html\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-541\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cours-de-peinture.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/posca-signer-tableau.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"533\" height=\"179\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/action.metaffiliation.com\/trk.php?mclic=P422AB56B253131&amp;redir=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.geant-beaux-arts.fr%2Fmarqueur-posca-pointe-extra-fine-0-7mm.html\"><strong>Buy Posca 0.7 mm from the fine art giant<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>How to sign your painting<\/h2>\n<h3>The signature on a painting is something personal<\/h3>\n<p>You need to find a signature that&#8217;s distinctive and recognizable, and I recommend that you try to keep the same&nbsp;style&nbsp;signature throughout your career.<\/p>\n<h3>Don&#8217;t sign too close to the edge<\/h3>\n<p>For reasons of balance and guidance, I recommend that you don&#8217;t sign too close to the edge.<\/p>\n<p>For example, if you&#8217;re signing a canvas in the bottom right-hand corner, make sure there are a few centimetres between the edge and your signature.<\/p>\n<h3>Sign your painting BEFORE applying your varnish<\/h3>\n<p>It is important to sign&nbsp; your canvas before varnishing it.
