Immediate feedback on your paintings with Facebook groups

I’ve already talked about the benefits of creating a Facebook page for your painting business.

But for this method, departures are always frustrating for the following reasons:

  • Only your family and friends follow your page
  • Your subscriber count is not taking off, and you’re barely topping the 100 mark.

Don’t worry, it’s normal, I’ll fix it!

Use Facebook differently to show off your art

It’s important to exploit the full potential of Facebook to create optimal visibility. And for that, there’s a great feature called groups!

Facebook groups are user-created spaces that you can join and in which you can post your own publications.

The advantages of a Facebook group :

  • You don’t need to have friends or subscribers to your page
  • You have immediate visibility
  • By finding the right group, you can benefit from a target that matches your art/practice.
  • You’ll be able to network and make artist friends.
  • You can easily get new fans on your page

How to use Facebook groups

Click on the video above to see the demonstration

  • Log in to your Facebook account
  • Click on the “Groups” link in the left-hand column
  • Then, in the tabs at the top of the page, you have “Groups” and “Discover”: Click on “Groups”.
  • You’ll come to a page listing all the groups you’ve subscribed to.

Find new Facebook groups

  • To find or join a group, type a query in the search field, e.g. “Abstract art”.
  • You will then have different types of results, click on “Groups”.
  • You’ll then have a list of all the groups you can join.
  • To do so, click on “Join”. A request will be sent to the group creator, who will decide whether or not to accept your membership.
  • Once your membership has been accepted, you can broadcast in the group as you do on your own Facebook page/profile.

Get it right

You may be tempted to put as many links as possible pointing to your page or website right away. But take the time to take an interest in other members and comment on their publications, too – it’s a win/win situation.

You also need to provide good content, explaining your approach. Be courteous and sincere to make sure you get constructive feedback.
